When Clive Rosfield, Joshua Rosfield, and Jill Warrick reach the Magitek Mothercrystal, Omega is deployed by the Sagespire's defense systems, absorbing the Mothercrystal and battling the party. Omega is the final boss of the " Echoes of the Fallen" expansion. It is homage to the boss's debut from Final Fantasy V. It is an ancient god-killing magitek armor of Solheimian design that is said to have "interdimensional" properties. Omega is a new superboss added to the Royal and Windows Editions, fought in the final dungeon. A high difficulty fight inspired by the raid series called The Omega Protocol (Ultimate) was released during Endwalker, offering additional challenge and rewards. Gear, weapons, a minion, and a mount inspired by Omega can be obtained as rewards from the "Omega" raid series. The questline "Beyond the Rift" details the events of Omega's origin and story after the events of both the "Omega" raid series, and Endwalker. In Endwalker, it is revealed Omega's home planet was known as "Alphatron", home to a race called the Omicrons. Omega is revealed to originate from the farthest depths of space-after fighting a war against Midgardsormr on a distant star, Omega pursued its prey until they both reached the Source. At the end of Heavensward, Omega is awakened to battle Shinryu, and later on plays a role in Stormblood as the focus of the "Omega" raid series. Omega is initially believed to be a dormant Allagan superweapon discovered beneath the Carteneau Flats in the aftermath of Bahamut's rampage, described as being so powerful that it dwarfs the Ultima Weapon. However, it is later revealed that Omega was truly created to defeat Midgardsormr, the father of dragons, whose appearance inspired the myth of Shinryu in the game's universe. In Final Fantasy XIV, Omega and a primal manifestation of Shinryu face off against each other in a cataclysmic battle, with Omega defeating the apparition of his enemy. This is supported by Shinryu's Museum profile in Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy, which mentions Shinryu travels the Rift in search of Omega. Based on Final Fantasy XII stating Omega was meant to destroy a powerful wyrm (or dragon), and Dissidia stating Omega was created to destroy a "massive power", it may be that Omega's objective is to destroy Shinryu, a powerful dragon that often appears parallel to Omega as another superboss and who also has the power to travel between dimensions. The incarnations of Omega appearing across the series may be either the same entity traveling between worlds, or they are shades of the original Omega, as the Final Fantasy XII information on Omega implies, that were sent out to different worlds by the original Omega that created them. In Final Fantasy XV Omega was created by an ancient civilization to slay the gods, and given the ability to warp between dimensions. In Final Fantasy XIII-2, Omega was sealed away within another dimension due to its power and need to destroy everything and everyone around it. After giving birth to a brood of Weapons, the original Omega escaped after the inventor and his patron had a falling out.ĭissidia Final Fantasy refers to Omega as a powerful machine created by an ancient civilization to destroy another powerful entity that travels dimensions and is still aiming to complete this objective. According to the Urutan-Yensa bestiary entry in Final Fantasy XII, Omega Mark XII was created by an inventor for the request of an unknown patron to defeat a monstrous wyrm. Omega frequently uses Earthquake, Flamethrower, and Maelstrom, and otherwise uses technologically-themed attacks.Īs with other recurring powerful bosses, like Shinryu or Gilgamesh, it is hinted that several of the "Omegas" in the series are the same entity across several games, traveling between worlds via the Interdimensional Rift. Its signature attack, Wave Cannon, does heavy non-elemental damage to the party. It has no head, and the central body is dominated by a large, yellow (sometimes red), pupil-less eye. Omega is a silver steel quadrupedal robot with a round body and four spider-like legs, resembling that of a scarab beetle. 3.1 Dragon Quest & Final Fantasy in Itadaki Street Portable.2.24 Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin.2.14.1 Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call.2.13 Dissidia Final Fantasy and Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy.2.11 Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers.2.10 Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King.
